Elux is the brand that proves a vape company can survive the death of its own bestseller. For years, the Elux Legend 3500 was one of the most recognisable disposables in Britain. Then the UK banned single-use disposables in June 2025, and the product line that built the name became illegal to sell overnight.
Most brands in that position would have faded. Elux poured its famous flavour catalogue into 10ml nic salt bottles and legal big-puff hardware, and carried on. This guide tells both halves of the story, what Elux was, what it is now, and what is worth your money in the UK today.
The verdict in 60 seconds
If you are in the UK, forget everything you remember about Elux disposables. You cannot buy them legally anymore. What you can buy is the Elux flavour library in bottled form: Legend nic salts for balanced all-day flavours, Firerose 5000 nic salts for bolder candy and soda profiles, both in 10ml TPD-compliant bottles at 10mg or 20mg. Pair them with a decent refillable pod kit and you get the Elux taste you remember at a fraction of the old cost.
What Elux is, and how it got famous
Elux is a Chinese vape brand that rose with the disposable wave of the early 2020s. Its breakthrough was the Elux Legend 3500, a big, boxy disposable offering up to 3,500 puffs from a 1500mAh battery with 20mg nicotine salt inside. At a time when most disposables topped out at 600 puffs, the Legend 3500 felt like serious value, and its flavour range, Mr Blue, Blue Razz Lemonade, Tiger Blood, Strawberry Ice Cream, Vimto, Gummy Bear, became genuine cultural shorthand among UK vapers.
Around it grew a whole family: the Elux Bar 600 and Elux Viva 600 for the classic small-disposable slot, the Firerose sub-brand with its Nova 600, EX 4500 and INS 6000 disposables, and later the Cyberover 18000, an 18ml dual-mesh monster with Normal and Boost power modes aimed at international markets. Elux’s signature was always flavour. Where some brands chased hardware gimmicks, Elux chased taste, sweet, bold, fruit-forward blends that photographed well and vaped even better.
That is also why the brand survived the ban. Hardware is disposable in every sense. A flavour library is an asset, and Elux had one of the best.
Era one: the disposables that built the name
The lineup that made Elux famous, and the names you will still see on pages that have not been updated since the ban.
Elux Legend 3500. The flagship. Up to 3,500 puffs, 1500mAh built-in battery, 20mg nic salt, 2ml of liquid. Dozens of flavours. This was the device that put Elux on the map in the UK, and the flavour list from this device became the foundation of the Legend nic salt range.
Elux Bar 600 and Elux Viva 600. The standard 600-puff disposables, 2ml of 20mg liquid, draw-activated with no buttons or setup. Simple, cheap, everywhere. When the device was finished, the LED flashed and you recycled it.
Firerose Nova 600, EX 4500 and INS 6000. The Firerose sub-brand’s disposable line, the ancestors of today’s Firerose 5000 nic salts. Bolder, sweeter flavour briefs than the main Legend line.
Elux Cyberover 18000. The outlier: 18ml of pre-filled liquid, dual mesh coils, and Normal/Boost power modes. This was never a UK-legal format, so treat it as an international-market curiosity, not something you missed out on.
Every one of these became illegal to sell in the UK on 1 June 2025, when the single-use disposable ban took effect. If a UK shop offers you any of them today, walk away. The next section covers what replaced them.
Era two: what Elux sells legally in the UK now
Post-ban Elux is a flavour company with two e-liquid ranges and two hardware lines that matter.
Elux Legend nic salts. The direct heir to the Legend 3500. The same flavour DNA, Tiger Blood, Hawaii Sunrise, Mr Blue and dozens more, around 50 flavours across fruit, berry, menthol and drink profiles, bottled as 10ml TPD-compliant nic salts in a 50/50 VG/PG mix. Strengths are 10mg and 20mg, with a handful of flavours also available in 5mg for vapers stepping down. These are designed for refillable MTL pod kits, the 0.8 to 1.2 ohm coil territory. One 10ml bottle is roughly equivalent to five of the old disposables, which is where the value story starts.
Elux Firerose 5000 nic salts. The heir to the Firerose disposables. Twenty-eight flavours built on a double flavour concentrate, leaning hard into candy, bubblegum and soda profiles: Ice Pop, Bubblegum Airways, Cherry Sours, Strawberry Watermelon Bubblegum, Strawberry Raspberry, Cherry Cola. Same 10ml, 50/50, 10mg and 20mg format as Legend. If Legend is the all-day range, Firerose is the dessert menu.
Elux ENE Legend 15K. The legal answer to big-puff disposables. This is a prefilled pod kit in the compliant 2ml-plus-10ml format: a 2ml prefilled pod paired with a 10ml refill container, together delivering up to 15,000 puffs of 20mg nic salt. A 1000mAh battery with USB-C charging powers it, and the draw is a cigarette-like MTL. You refill the pod by turning the kit upside down.
Elux Legend Prime 5000. The refillable route: a 600mAh USB-C device with a 2ml pod you can refill multiple times, sold with a 10ml bottle of Legend nic salt in the box. The side-fill port keeps refilling mess-free.
Note the pattern: everything legal now is either a bottle or a refillable system. That is the whole UK market after the ban, and Elux adapted to it better than most disposable-era brands.
Elux Legend vs Firerose 5000: which nic salt range suits you
This is the choice most UK buyers actually face, so here it is plainly.
Pick Legend if you want balanced, all-day flavours. The range is bigger, around 50 flavours, and the profiles are the ones that made the brand famous: clean fruits, berries, menthols, drink-inspired blends. It is the safer blind buy, the range where almost everything is at least good.
Pick Firerose 5000 if you like your flavours loud. Twenty-eight flavours, double concentrate, candy and soda forward. Ice Pop and Bubblegum Airways are the signature examples. These are less all-day and more treat, and that is exactly the point.
On strength: 20mg is the UK legal maximum and the right starting point if you are coming off the old disposables. If 20mg feels harsh in a refillable kit, 10mg is the step down, and the flavour is identical at both strengths.
Both ranges are 50/50 liquids for MTL kits. Do not put them in a sub-ohm tank. High-wattage DTL hardware will burn through the bottle and deliver far too much nicotine per puff. Match the liquid to a low-wattage pod kit and it behaves exactly as designed.

The legal hardware, explained
Two devices, two philosophies.
The ENE Legend 15K is for the ex-disposable vaper who wants the closest thing to the old experience without breaking the law. Prefilled, minimal fuss, big puff count, MTL draw. The 2ml pod plus 10ml container format is the industry’s compliant answer to the ban, and Elux’s version is as straightforward as they come: charge it, connect the refill, flip it to prime the coil, inhale.
The Legend Prime 5000 is for the vaper who wants to choose their own flavours. The refillable pod takes any e-liquid, and the included 10ml bottle of Legend nic salt gets you started. After that, you are free: Legend, Firerose, or any other brand’s 10ml bottles. This is the cheaper long-term route and the more flexible one.
If neither appeals, the broader market has you covered. Our best refillable vape guide ranks the best refillable kits in the UK right now, and any of them will run Elux nic salts happily.
The maths: what Elux costs now vs the disposable days
Here is the part the old disposable habit never wanted you to calculate.
A 10ml bottle of Elux nic salt is roughly equivalent to five old-style disposables, at around a fifth of the old street-price cost, before you even factor in that the device is now bought once instead of weekly. Even with coils and the kit itself, the refillable route lands far cheaper within the first month.
The ban did vapers’ wallets a favour, whatever else it did. The flavour is the same library, the nicotine is the same strength, and the price per puff has collapsed.
One cost that did arrive with the new era is the vaping duty. Every 10ml bottle now carries £2.20 of duty inside its price, which is worth knowing when you compare bottle prices. Our UK vape tax guide breaks down exactly what you are paying for.

Fakes: Elux’s counterfeit problem did not die with the ban
Elux was one of the most counterfeited disposable brands in the UK, and the fakes have followed the brand into the nic salt era. Counterfeit 10ml bottles are a real thing: wrong nicotine strength, unknown ingredients, no TPD notification, and packaging that looks right at a glance.
The defences are the standard ones, applied carefully. Buy from established UK retailers, not market stalls, social media sellers, or websites with no verifiable address. Check the packaging for the required TPD labelling, health warnings, and batch information. Be suspicious of prices far below the going rate. And check the product against the official Elux flavour list, because fake ranges routinely invent flavours the brand never made.
Our fake vapes guide walks through the full checklist of what to look for.
Who should buy Elux in the UK now, and who should not
Buy Elux if: you loved the old Legend or Firerose disposable flavours and want them back in legal form; you want a big, proven flavour menu rather than experimenting with unknown brands; you are switching from disposables to a refillable kit and want a familiar taste for the transition.
Skip Elux if: you want 0mg liquid, because the Legend and Firerose nic salt ranges are nicotine products, and our nicotine-free vape guide covers the zero-nicotine alternatives; you are a DTL sub-ohm vaper, because 50/50 nic salts are the wrong liquid for your hardware; you want tobacco flavours, because Elux’s library is overwhelmingly fruit, candy and menthol.
New to vaping entirely? Start with the technique, not the brand. Our how to vape guide covers setup, MTL vs DTL, and nicotine strength from zero, and our UK vaping age rules guide covers who can legally buy.
For a sense of how Elux compares to the other big disposable-era survivors, our Aspire brand guide covers a brand that took the opposite path, doubling down on refillable hardware from the start.
Elux FAQ
Are Elux disposables still available in the UK?
No. Single-use disposables cannot be legally sold in the UK since the ban took effect on 1 June 2025, and Elux discontinued its disposable lines here. The flavours live on as Elux Legend and Firerose 5000 nic salts in 10ml bottles.
What is the difference between Elux Legend and Elux Firerose nic salts?
Legend is the bigger, more balanced range, around 50 flavours based on the original Legend disposable, covering fruit, berry, menthol and drinks. Firerose 5000 is 28 bolder, sweeter flavours built on a double concentrate, leaning into candy, bubblegum and soda. Both are 10ml, 50/50, 10mg and 20mg.
What does 20mg mean in Elux nic salts?
20mg (2%) is the UK legal maximum nicotine strength for e-liquid, and it matches what the old Elux disposables contained. It gives the strongest throat hit and craving satisfaction. 10mg is the lighter step down, with identical flavour.
Can I use Elux nic salts in any vape kit?
In any low-wattage MTL refillable pod kit, yes. They are 50/50 liquids designed for coils around 0.8 to 1.4 ohms at low wattage. Do not use them in sub-ohm or direct-to-lung tanks.
What is the Elux ENE Legend 15K?
A prefilled pod kit in the UK-compliant big-puff format: a 2ml prefilled pod plus a 10ml refill container, delivering up to 15,000 puffs of 20mg nic salt with a 1000mAh USB-C rechargeable battery.
How many puffs do you get from a 10ml bottle of Elux nic salt?
Roughly the equivalent of five old-style disposables. Through the Legend Prime 5000 device, Elux rates a 10ml bottle at up to around 3,000 puffs, though real-world mileage varies with draw length.
Are Elux vapes MHRA notified?
Compliant Elux products sold in the UK carry the required TPD notifications. If a product lacks proper labelling, warnings and batch information, treat it as suspect regardless of the branding on the box.
Is Elux a good brand for beginners?
The nic salts are, paired with a simple MTL pod kit: familiar flavours, straightforward strengths, no mixing or coil building. The hardware choice matters more than the liquid brand for a beginner, so pick the kit first and the Elux flavour second.
Verdict: the brand that outlived its own bestseller
Elux’s story is unusual. Most disposable-era brands either died with the ban or are still pretending it did not happen. Elux did the unglamorous, correct thing: it kept the flavour library, the one thing customers actually loved, and rebuilt the business around bottles and legal hardware.
For UK vapers, that makes Elux one of the easiest post-ban transitions available. If you vaped Legend 3500s, the nic salts are the same flavours without the legal risk or the weekly cost. Just buy the bottles, not the memories of the disposables, and buy them from shops that follow the rules.
